~The Light of Courage~
By: Me, DemiDorkMaiden

Bled out from her poor, aching heart
Is something that's all shriveled and torn apart
To bits and to dust
She does what she must

But in there, lives a little love.
That she has worked hard to preserve
And it's nobody's reserve.
A tiny speck of happiness is all she'll ever have

Her eyes glow like the sun
Oh how beautiful it once shone
Before it was tainted black
And thrown into a sack

Dancing like a graceful girl,
She beautifully twirled
And gave a light-giving swirl
Everybody's sadness, away she tried to whirl.

How soft she once was
Until she turned to stone
Like a delicate feather
That had been hardened in a cold world.

Broken without any mercy,
It caused her own controversy.
Alone she cried,
In the cold she lied.

Until that day came,
She was no longer the same.
She had darkened and turned to fright,
She was losing all her light.

Trapped in her darkness,
She remained heartless.
With nothing bound to escape,
She shuts her mouth as if it had tape.

The one who held her captive
Was never in one place, always so primitive.
Yet somehow was in distorted shape,
Flying around like shreds of a torn-out cape.

When the figure turned its back,
She saw something that left her in shock.
It was something strange,
But it never had change.

There was a light
It was so little, like a speck out of sight.
It was from the nape of its neck,
She wasn't sure, so she starred just to check.

Afraid and confused,
Her little feelings fused.
But still left in consistent ban,
She was just there, left with no plan.

Days have passed since,
Yet nothing makes sense.
Her plan was a miss,
It had thrown her deeper into the abyss.

Thinking of everything she could,
She'd do if only she would.
She remains stale,
Taking a breath, she deeply inhales.

Through the weeks,
She had known what the shadow seeks.
Reaching the peaks
Her weaknesses imply.

She tried all her was at once,
But after which, felt like a dunce.
She had failed yet again
And felt that there was no more to gain.

She remained stubborn and refused to give up,
Even if she was asked to stop.
She swore to herself
That never again would she surrender to the dark.

On numerous failures,
She had thought that it was others' pleasures.
She had almost lost hope,
Almost falling into the other slope.

She stood up again,
And fought with everything she had,
Even in her pain
She said there'd be no reason to be sad.

Time and time had passed
And she still couldn't surpass
That unholy guardian
Guarding her own hell.

There was another thing,
She had always wanted to sing.
So simple; yet never though of.
She began, and it sounded soft.

It only weakened he guardian,
And played an accordion.
That one mistake
Caused her to shake.

It had taken her voice
Now she has not a choice
But to give up
And begin to stop.

She can no longer speak,
And now stuck deeper in her void.
But one slight leak
Caused her to be paranoid.

She's hurt and ashamed
And she sees herself the one to be blamed.
Her failures and mistakes
She has thought of in many ways.

The harder she tried,
The more she failed.
She fell down
But came back up again.

Alone she is,
And all she has is herself.
She pulls herself up after every fall,
Ringing her symphony's call.

She wasn't like the rest,
She has always done her best.
Even if she's a broken girl
She's has always dug deep to find her pearl.

She fought the pain
That was driving her insane,
She battled her fears
That had brought her in tears.

She faced each one
Without tears, showing none.
She closed her eyes and saw the skies
"The battle has ended, and now I could be free."

Those words uttered with a weakened body
As she took her last breath with the sweetest smile
Knowing that it would would only take the last while
Her precious  moments she pondered fondly

The light on the figure's neck?
Oh, that was one thing that wasn't taken away.
It was her courage,
So small yet so strong.
