CHAPTER FOURTEEN

Wake Up Call

Blue Bay Retreat House, Azulan City

"Anthonyyyy!"

Ailee jerked awake from her nap in the library on the second floor of the retreat house when Cess' voice echoed throughout the house. Hindi niya namalayang nakatulog siya nang napagdesisyonan niyang mag-stay sa library pagkatapos niyang makausap si JC upang mag-focus sa script ng film ni Marelo.

Dali-dali niyang niligpit ang kanyang mga gamit at nilisan ang silid-aklatan. She passed by Erza and Ashanti's room on the way to the stairs connected to the kitchen. Ailee could see them arguing inside.

"Ano na namang problema mo, Ez?" asik ni Ashanti na nakaupo sa dulo ng kanyang kama.

"I don't know, Ash. Baka dahil nararamdaman ko na kaibigan mo lang kami kapag convenient sa 'yo?" Sabat naman ni Erza at pabagsak na isinara ang pintuan ng aparador.

But the redhead didn't stick around to hear the rest of their feud. Nang makarating siya sa baba ng hagdan, agad na bumungad sa kanya ang mabilis na pagsasalita nina Cess at Chloe ng Espanyol. Ailee almost didn't want to open the door and enter the kitchen, but when she did, the first thing she saw was Cess holding her cousin's boyfriend by the ear.

The poor guy had to crouch down to her level. . . probably to not get his ear ripped off due to their height difference.

"Cess, detente! Déjalo ir. He dicho que lo dejes ir!¹" sigaw ni Chloe na sinusubukang paghiwalayin ang dalawa.

"No! No hasta que le dé una lección²," bulyaw naman ni Cess na tila lalong hinigpitan ang hawak kay Anthony. "Tú eres gilipollas, Anthony? Eres gilipollas, lo sabes³."

"Wala akong maintindihan sa sinasabi niyo, hindi ako Espanyol!" reklamo ni Anthony na namimilipit sa sakit. "Hindi ko naman sinasadya!"

To make things funnier than the fact that Ailee was the only one who could understand what they were saying, Raziel was actually hiding behind one of the refrigerators, helpless to save his own cousin.

Nilapitan ito ni Ailee upang alamin kung paano na-activate si small but brutal Cess. "Anong nangyari?" tanong niya.

"A-aksidente lang nama—y-yung bola. . . yung bola kasi, Ailee. Hindi na-kontrol."

Raziel gestured to what appears to be something that Cess was cooking that was dumped on the kitchen sink. Alam na kaagad ni Ailee kung ano ang nangyari. Everyone knows how much the gray-eyed girl hated spoiled food. Lalo na kapag siya ang nagluluto.

"Do you need help dumping the body or scraping his remains off the floor?" Ailee asked nonchalantly, causing the three of them to turn to her.

Tila nakakita ng multo si Anthony samantalang mukha namang maagang dumating ang pasko para kay Cess. On the other hand, Chloe sighed exasperatedly upon seeing her. Ailee was never the best person to help in reigning Brutal Cess in.

Napangisi na lamang si Ailee nang tila gulat na gulat silang tatlo nang siya mismo ang humila kay Cess palayo kay Anthony. Chloe surely won't appreciate us murdering her boyfriend in front of her and his cousin, Ailee mused.

"Tara na, Cess," pag-aaya niya sa nakababatang dalaga. "I'm sure may iba ka pang masarap na niluto bukod doon sa natapon ni Anthony."

Kahit na nasa kabilang bahagi na sila ng kusina'y patuloy pa rin sa pagbigkas ng mga banta si Cess laban sa kawawang si Anthony.
