The house was new. Very new. Everything was geometric, the flat pitched roof abode with a massive door as wide as it was tall. Every line was clean and straight. The dark color scheme complementing the lush New Hampshire forest. Large square windows took up entire walls with only polished steel beams to break them into more rectangles. Natural light flooded in to the house from all sides.
It looked like it had been finished last week. It looked almost too new in some strange way, all the houses in the area looked decrepit, it was a true work of art. But it was highly unlikely anyone would see it, the house was outside of town, on the edge of the forest. The land must have been cheap, no one except vampires would want to be that close to bears. I couldn't help but stare at the house. I had never seen anything so amazing. Emmett twisted open the handle and I couldn't believe what was inside.
The interior of the house was just as beautiful. Instead of separate rooms, the kitchen, dining room, and living room were opened, flowing seamlessly into the other. Along the west side of the wall were floor to ceiling windows. The concealed latches on the side allowed them to fully open onto the balcony.
The kitchen was impressive, even if no meal would ever be made. The black ash colored cabinetry, combined with wooden elements created a signature Cullen look.
