Ice Queen

Chapter 1

The Palace

Essence Pov:

I regained my senses and realized that I wasn't in a place that I recognized. I sat up and looked around the room I was in. It was completely white, lavish and clearly meant for a queen.

"Please Mistress, rest a little more. You've had a long journey." I jumped at the voice and turned towards it. I jumped again as I saw two people, both clearly Asian and clearly twins.

"Uh who are you?" I asked them. "And why am I here."

"Well I am Alex, he's Danny. We're twins and I'm the eldest. You're here because your mate broke you so badly that you broke. He turned you into what you were in your past life. The Ice Queen."

"You mean from the legends?!" I asked.

"The very same, and just as the legend says as soon as you entered the kingdom it came alive."  I stared at him.

"So your saying that I'm the Ice Queen, the one that people say ruled with a love even though she had a broken heart?"

"The very same!" Danny replied.

"And you are the reincarnation of her." Alex spoke.

"Explain, please."

"In your first life you had beautiful red hair and green eyes, you were in love with a man that was said to give you his all, he proposed to you but married someone else inviting you to the wedding. The betrayal broke your heart. Your hair turned white and your eyes turned blue. The Ice Kingdom was created from your feelings of ice. You locked up your feelings and only showed compassion to those of the village and vowed to never love again."  Alex told me.

"However after you vowed that a witch cursed you to be reincarnated over and over until someone broke you out of the cycle with love. However it's been 200 years." Danny finished.

"How did you find me?" Danny held up a music box.

"After the witch cursed you, you made this music box and told us that the only people who could hear it's music was the people of the village and you. You also told us that in every life you would regain your red hair and green eyes."

"Why would I want to do that?"

"You were taken on the fact that you would never love again and it's been true. In every life you've had your heartbroken and turned back into the Ice Queen."

I flinched, in every life!

"Mistress, we are sure that you're tired and confused we will leave you-" I cut Alex off.

"No, I'm alright." I told him and he nodded.

"Come milady you must greet your subjects." He and Danny held out an arm for me to grab. I wrapped my arms around them and they lead me out of the room and into an all white hallway.

"Is everything here white?" They nodded.

"Yes, everything is white. Your favorite color and it's fitting for a land shrouded in ice, yes?"

I shook my head after thinking about it. "So how old are you two?" I asked.

"We are 200 years old, we will never stop aging until you find love. Our job is to find you when you break and bring you here for you beloved to find you." Danny answered.

"Huh?" I asked him.

"The words you told Shane before you left, you always tell your beloved the same thing before you leave. If he solves the riddle and finds you then you will be set free, if not then the cycle begins again until someone  does  rescue you." Danny answered again.
