There's Always A Reason To Keep Fighting

On the count of three, Efaw grabbed Braxton and held him down tightly to the floor. I felt more than saw that Christian had tensed up behind me, but I couldn't worry about him right now. I took a deep breath, and felt the rush of power that came with my healing powers. The air around us had seemed to have changed, and I knew I wasn't the only one to feel it when Efaw gasped aloud.

I keep my eyes closed as I held my hands out over Braxton's chest. I would be able to heal him better if I had less clothing on though. The more clothing I had on seemed to interfere with the power. Don't ask me why, I don't know. My guess is it had something to do with being closer to the earth. But my hands and feet would just have to do right now.

I took one more deep breath and then I felt it. I felt the water from the bowl cover my hands, waiting to be directed as to where to go. I could feel where I needed to go more than I probably could see it though. When ever I was like this, I just felt this over whelming feeling that I needed to help. And with me being attached to Braxton this way, it seemed like my need to help just got 10 times stronger.

I took a moment to take in all the emotions running through my head; Anger at Spades, Sadness about Braxton being hurt, Hurt from no one telling me before this. And then I stopped them all. I put them all in a small box in my head, and shut of all emotions. This wouldn't work if I was too clouded with feelings.

I put my hands over his chest, and immediately felt the warmth of healing rushing through to the tips of my fingers. I lowered my hands, and could feel myself healing Braxton. I opened my eyes to see that it was indeed healing. But Braxton was moving to much for me to get all of his burns.

I knew that it hurt, but he had to be still. I was basically growing back all the skin that Spades burnt off, while cleaning up the infection that had caused his near death experience.

"Hold him down Efaw!' I looked up at her to see that she was staring at my hands in shock. Ug! This was going to be fun to explain later. But like I said. Talk later. Heal Braxton now.

She got out of her shocked state and held Braxton down tighter, that would have probably left bruises if I wasn't already healing him.

Most of his skin was back, and you could hardly tell that there was ever an infection at all. He was screaming now instead of just moving around like he was having an attack. Then all at once, he just stopped moving. That's when I knew it was done. He was going to be ok.

That's also about when I felt the world start to spin. I heard Efaw scream before everything went dark.

                                                            Braxton

The pain was excruciating. It felt like my skin was being stretched and tore apart all at the same time. I was sweating and shivering, and I felt like I was dying. I felt like I had been tortured for hours, and just when I thought I couldn't take anymore, it all just stopped.

I tried everything that I could, but eventually the dark came to take me. Normally I would've tried to stop it, but I was so tired all of the sudden. I heard a scream before I passed out..

                                                            Christian

She had done it. She had actually done it. Braxton's skin was mostly healed, just really red. He was sweating, but looked cold at the same time.

After Nyx had passed out, I laid her down on the floor, and then covered her with the towel. Then I went to Braxton's side and carefully put the blanket over him. Efaw was just staring at Nyx with a mix of horror and awe on her face.

"Efaw, why don't you go take a walk? They aren't going anywhere. I'll watch them." She was too stunned to say anything. She just slowly nodded her head before leaving.

As soon as she left, I grabbed Braxton's hand and slowly kissed each of his digits. I couldn't help but smile. He was alive. I was so convinced that I would lose him. I couldn't lose someone else like this. I don't think I could make it a second time.

I knew that it was wrong, but I had fallen for Braxton. He was sweet and funny and handsome and just an amazing person. And that's why it was wrong to like him. Not because he was a guy and so was I, but for the fact that he was perfect. People like him don't go for people like me. Trouble makers with broken pasts.

Because I knew that he wasn't awake and couldn't feel it, I slowly lent down and kissed his lips softly. They were just as I had imagined. Soft and smooth. I kept my lips to his for a few more seconds on tell I felt a tear fall onto my cheek. I shifted so I was lying next to him, and turned on my side so I was facing him. I feel asleep, with his hand in mine, thinking that if I could have him next to me, I would never have another nightmare again.

                                                             Efaw

I have no idea what I just saw. He was dying. He was almost dead. I felt his life slipping away from my fingers. And then she saved him. How did she do that?

And now I think I'm going crazy and am hallucinating. I didn't just see Christian kiss Braxton. Just go up stairs and find somewhere to sleep Efaw. This will all look better in the morning. I hope.
