"Sometimes... when times get tough, when things get sticky, and you find yourself walking a thin line... the truth has to come out."

The sounds of rootsteps crashing over my head was startling, but we had been waiting for them. I was in a small place underground, and the smell of mildew was strong as I laid inbetween Rain and Maggie, holding their hands. Everyone was so still I could barely hear their hearts beating. Or maybe it was the sounds of the dozen foot steps running inches above us, trying to find us. A pair of feet stopped, and my heart stopped at that very moment. You heard them mumbling for a moment, their words not audible. After a while they started moving again and I could even hear Rain let out a small sigh of relief. No more footsteps arrived after that for quite a while, and we knew we would be safe to move again.

Trying to get a blind girl to travel at the speed of two others who can see where they're going is a lot harder than I think all of us expected it to be. It didn't take long for Rain to pick me up and carry me on his back. It made them travel a little bit faster through the passageways until he started to get tired from my weight.

"You should really ease up on the pastries Temperance," Rain passively muttered, breaking to silence. I scowled with my lips, and grunted as he pushed me back up on his back. I heard Maggie giggle from next to me. And as we walked along I started to smell water more and more. "We are near the exit, so I'm going to let you down, because I'm sure they sent someone there to wait for us."

He set me on my feet carefully, and I quickly reached out to find Maggie so that I could stay close to her. Maggie was still and not moving, but I heard Rain step away from us and down the tunnel. I could only assume he was walking out first to see what awaited us. After a pregnant pause of silence the scuffel finally began. I heard Rain yell in surprised as he quickly drew his sword and the sound of  metal scratching and hitting becaming alarming.

"Whats happening?" I asked Maggie as her grip tightened on me and she pulled me back against a wall.

"He was right, someone was waiting for us. And more are probably coming now with the commotion."

"What are we going to do?" I felt so useless at that moment, just a hollow being that needed taken care of, and all I could do was ask questions.

"I don't know..." She muttered as the sound of their blades hitting echoed off the tunnel walls. Suddenly you heard footsteps rushing over to us.

"You guys have to run for it, just go!" The Prince yelled, and Maggie was quick to take our orders. She grabbed my hand and sprinted, leaving me running behind her awkwardly. I decided to trust her though, and tried to let go of my resentment of not knowing where I was going. She let out a short scream when I heard an object wizz past our heads. It must have been an arrow.

"Come on! We are almost to the trees!" She shouted as she picked up her pace, but the sudden change in speed made me trip on my feet and I was sent tumbling down to the ground. "Temperance!" Maggie screamed, but it was to late. Strong hands were already grabbing me and pulling me up.

I tried to scream, but my sounds were caught in my throat as I was lifted up and slammed into the mans shoulders. "No!" I managed to shout as I beat my hands on his backside. "Let me go!" I screamed.

"No, shut up and stop moving you ninny." Came the voice of Rain as he tried to keep my legs from flailing. My panic quickly subsided and he ran into the forest with Maggie. After we were shielded by the trees, he set me down, and we all paused for a moment, panting.

"We have to keep moving," Rain explained, and I nodded in agreement as I placed my hand against a tree.

"Huh?" I said as a moved my palm across the tree trunk to feel its grooves and bark. It was a Acer Grisuem tree. The very tree that Asa and I would park ourselves in front of to eat lunch or chat about anything.

"Whats wrong?" Maggie asked as she watched me peel back the bark of the flaky tree.

"Nothing, I just know where we are, and it surprised me that's all."

"Good, then can you tell us which way we should travel by chance?" Rain asked.

"Umm," I hummed as I turned in a circle, trying to remember what the forest looked like in my mind. "We want to head not directly North, but i'm not sure if Northwest or Northeast. One way will take us to the hills, and the other area will take us to caves and water." The last time she went to the cave and waters was when she stormed out of the family dinner the night of when she first met Rain. But he wouldn't know that.

"Well then, looks like we are going to have to make a guess, which way are you feeling your majesty?" He asked as he took my arm in his and pointed me north.

"I wouldn't say I'm a Princess anymore."

"To say that, is to say that I'm not a Prince anymore myself."

"Can we just pretend then?"

He fell silent, probably confused by my wishes. I smiled slightly and closed my eyes. "East."

Note: This Chapter is basically Part 1 of 2. It was suppose to be much much longer, but I get impatient, and I've literally have had the first part of the chapter written for months, just sitting there collecting dust waiting for me to come back to it.

One day my lovelies.
