The pain will always be there. He won't be able to forget. But the least he could do for her is to accept. It took a long time.
But he can't keep holding on to the past. He can't keep holding on to the pain. He can't keep waking up and living a lie, tricking himself into thinking that she is still here to touch him, hold him, love him...
He finally accepted her death.
But, he will never let go of her.
