Nothing came between them. They got closer and closer. He is no longer trying to break down her walls, but it broke anyway.
"I have leukemia." she said out of the blue one day. His eyes widened and his hold slackened for just a second. She expected him to pull away, but he didn't. His hug tightened around her.
"I'm still here for you. Don't worry."
