The sun started to go down as I walked down the dock, towards my ship. My crew was already waiting for me.
"Captain!" Petra yelled. "Welcome aboard!"
I leaned on my walking stick as I climbed aboard. Petra handed me my hat. I looked at it. It was a black and had one gray and one green feather on it. It used to be my father's, but now it was mine. I put the hat on my head and walked to the helm. I looked down at my crew.
"Today, our 5th expedition begins. We'll sail the seas, and we won't return without a mermaid. Hanji has found a spot where mermaids are rumored to pass each year. We will await them, and we'll catch one!"
The crew yelled in enthusiasm.
A mermaid. It had been said that a mermaid's tears could heal any wound. I was determined to get a tear, and heal my leg.
