XIV. Lost in Translation

The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place.

-George Bernard Shaw

Sly's POV

I shook my head I could not believe that Que had actually managed to get this kid to let us have the bricks and was going to take him under his wing. I thought this was extremely foolish but, it was none of my business as long as this kid didn't cross me. I personally didn't like the idea of having to kill a child but if you think about it everyone is someone's child so that would make me a hypocrite to not stand firm in this believe no matter what.

And another thing what bothering me because I felt like something was going on behind my back. I mean I couldn't put my finger on it but something was going and it was pissing me off to no end. Do you every get a feeling that something just isn't right but you not really even sure why you feel like that? Well, that's how I was feeling now that I was driving to the trap to drop this stuff off and be on my way to Audi house since I didn't feel like being home alone knowing that something just wasn't right.

I glanced in my rearview mirror and took in the kid's appearance as he talked with Que trying to gain his trust I guess. The kid look no more than 13 year old to be honest and something devastating had to happen for him to be dealing with drugs that heavy in a warehouse and he was the guard. That was crazy when I thought it over in my head because I was so much like him expect it was my father training not out of need for food and shelter really survival is a better word for it I guess.

As we drove back into the city limits I was relieved that the feeling I was having of dread for the future was getting better but it was still pretty bad because I can always tell when something going pop off. "Que you taking the kid with you?" I asked as we drove in the direction of the warehouse.

"Yeah I'm going to take him to Quana house. You know she be tripping when I don't come see her" he said blowing smoke out his mouth. Quana was Que crazy baby mama, they had a son that Que only saw some times cause Quana believed that if he saw his baby he need to be spending his time with her to. Que didn't want anything from her just somewhere to store stuff when he did want at his house and his son, Quincy to be safe.

"Really, Quana going to kick your ass" I laughed not believing that he was going to have this stranger staying with his son.

"I mean I know she lonely since lil' Que spending time with my Mama while she vacations in the Virgin Island. And you know I don't play about my son. I need to know I can trust this lil' nigga before he be around my kid" Que said giving a look only I could read. Que might seem like a super nice guy but he was a cold-blooded dude. He would never put his Mama or son in danger and he always made sure they were good. While, he was slightly careless with his own life. And he taught Quana how to use a gun in case anything popped off at her house because she was still connected to Que even if they were not together.

I laughed as I watched the kid show some fear in his eyes seeing Que stop smiling and get a serious look on his face. We pulled up to the warehouse but from the angled I pulled in the kid had no way of knowing where he was in the city because I preferred to be caution then overly trusting when it came to dealing people I don't know that well.

Que got out of the car and the kid followed and they got in the all black Suburban and drove off to Quana's house and I made my way into the heart of the city to chill for a little bit and make sure everything was normal since I was feeling that dread still sitting at the back of my mind. I just remember that I never addressed the Que and Audi situation but I guess that I would just let it slide because I doubt it was/is that serious so maybe it just like a brief infatuation so nothing can happen other than Audi being maybe butt hurt over Que being the dog I knew him to be.
