You don’t see her. She won’t care.

As she hides her face behind her hair.

Praying and praying you wont see through,

To the soul underneath, stained black and blue.

She hides behind her smile, never shows a frown,

Wondering if it’d change if he weren’t around.

It’d all be perfect or so it seems,

If he weren’t there to haunt her dreams.

Everyday, every night without fail,

She wishes her mother hadn’t worn the veil.

Wishes her mother hadn’t married that man,

Wishes her mother even gave a damn.

She sees all he does and yet still just stares,

As her little girl hides her face beneath her hair.

As she prays and prays that someone will see,

The man her mother married, the man who haunts her dreams.
