Dear Friend,
I got to know you day by day
Everything was going my way.
I thought we were on the same page
I thought what we had was true
I trusted you with all my heart
Now I'm stuck feeling blue.
I wrote you letters night and day
But all you did was turn the other way.
You told me you loved me
Then turned the other way.
I got to know you
I got to trust you
I got to loving you
And everything seemed so true.
Then you told me all about her
I didn't know what to say.
But now I know the truth,
And all we'll ever be is friends.
Even thought my heart's telling me
To turn the other way.
