The Star obliterated the Corporation

The Party unleashed the Destroya on the enemy

But alas,

The Kid kept running

Smoke curled around my nose

As all the fire stopped for only a moment

A moment is never long enough

Fire resumed quickly

Before I could fall to the ground

To the Kid's side

I was seized into Korse's grasp

Falling away

But the thing was

I didnt care

I stopped running

I didn't look up when I heard the cries of my fellow Killjoys

I didn't look at Party tackling Korse

Or respond when Party asked if I was alright

Or help push past the drones in front of the escape doors

I was dead sunshine

The only thing occupying my running mind for eons on

Was the light behind Kid's eyes fleeing

Kid stopped running

Standing just beyond the escape

Party shoved me
