"is she going to show up or just lock herself in her room" bruce said bluntly as he sat down in his chair at the head of the table
"she'll be here bruce " artemis replied in a irritated tone "you no she is going to ruin the whole night right ?" Dick mumbled as he was picking at the bread basket
"we'll i'll try be on my best behaviour won't i grayson " everybody's eye's turned to the other end of the table were Amber stood in a tight fitting red dress with lace netted sleeves her lips were stained red and her eyelashes were long and jet black ,she made her way to the seat in front of her as everyone just stared with their mouth's hanging open except artemis and zatanna who just sat with a triumph smile on both their faces
she sat down and looked around at everyone and then rolled her eyes as she slumped back in her seat "take a picture why don't ya it last's longer " she said with a sarcastic tone
"what so you just wear the eyepatch for kicks ?" damian smirked "or just to look like daddy dearest"
ambers eye's grew a scornful look as she sat upright in her seat and placed her elbows on the table locking her fingers together and resting her chin on them "listen you spoiled little bastard i'm already holding back on stabbing you to death with a fork for what you did to my father you should thank god he is alive at this minute otherwise you would be chow for my cat and second i don't wear it for KICKS or TO LOOK LIKE MY FATHER the reason i don't have it on is because zatanna here put a spell on my eye "
everyone stared in shock at ambers outburst and threat ,
amber rose looked around the table once more to see a empty seat opposite from Dick and let her eye's fall to him and a smirk curl on her lips
"what happen grayson your date stood you up ? how surprising "
Dick glared at her and opened his mouth to bite back with 2 very un polite words but was interrupted by alfred
"i am most pleased to announce that our dinner guest Miss Koriand'r has finally arrived "
everyone's eye's trailed to the bronze skinned red haired girl standing in the doorway with alfred but amber's eyes was just gazing around at all the stunned faces with a confused expression ,but then Dick's eyes met ambers as he smirked and stood from his chair and made his way over to the waiting girl
amber quickly rolls her eye's and swings her head around on her chair to take a look at the girl who has gotten everyone in aw..but the only words she can manage to push out her mouth are
"oh ..my ..god "
the alien girl's eyes grew wide in shock but were soon out done my her gleaming smile
"ROSE ?!"
"KORI!"
"Amber immediately leaped from her seat and embraced kori with open arms ,and once again everyone was frozen in shock even Dick was lost for words
40 minutes later
"wait your not with the league anymore ?" Kori asked as she takes a sip of her wine
"no not for the past 6 month actually " amber answered ,the full night she had been smiling turns out her and kori were close friends a long time ago which obviously pissed Dick off
"but what about you i didn't know you moved to gotham ? last i heard you were going back to tamaran "
Kori's happy smile quickly fell as she put down her fork and let her hands drop to her lap
"no turns out my wacky sister just wanted me as a prisoner they all had no intention of letting me return as a free member of society"
amber was lost for words she wasn't really the sympathy or comforting type so 'i'm sorry' or 'how terrible ' would surely mean nothing and kori new that
"well turns out you're not the only one with crazy parent's kori i mean just ask amber or rose whatever her name is " dick had a sick smug grin on his face ,he may have been talking to kori but his eye's were on amber rose
"DICK!" bruce warned in a loud voice as he peered daggers at Dick ,Amber however was staring down at her plate unblinking just sitting there with a fork in hand
"no god dammit bruce i'm sick of everyone treating her like angel survivor when we all know she left on purpose !" Dick was now standing as he was bellowing his words and pointing his finger at Amber who was still unmoving in her seat but it was clear her hand was clenched tight around her fork in anger
"Dude sit down and chill" jason said through gritted teeth he was now also stood up it looked as if he wanted to pounce on Dick and tear his pointing finger off but he managed to stay where he was as Dick continued ranting
"NO JASON ,WHY IS SHE SO SPECIAL HUH ? WHAT HAS SHE EVER DONE TO DESERVE TO BE BROUGHT BACK IN WITH OPEN ARMS AND BE TREATED LIKE SHE IS THE PURE AND PERFECT ROSE FROM 6 YEARS AGO WHEN WE ALL KNOW SHE AS IS A BIG A MONSTER AS HER FATHER "all the girls at the table gasped in horror and the boys eyes wide in shock as they all turned to rose waiting for her reaction and sure enough she had one she looked up at Dick with tear filled eyes and a sad mixed with angry expression on her face but as soon as Dick saw her eyes his anger settled and a guilty look creeped onto his face as he began walking towards Amber but she shot up from her chair and he stopped
"amber i didn't m-"
"oh i think i know perfectly what you mean grayson " she bit in a bitter tone as she stormed out of the dinning room leaving everyone with gaping mouths there was silence for a moment until a faint door bang could be heard and a chair being pulled back
jason gave Dick a quick glare as he began to walk out of the room but stopped and slightly turned his head to Dick
"she may have her past but she didn't deserve that "
