Chapter 5: The Storm

Anyway... On with the story.

One week. One week until Kai came back and Jinora was about to explode. Jinora missed Kai everyday and everyone could sense it. After the wedding of Asami and Korra the two lovebirds went on their honeymoon and this sucked for Jinora because these two were like her best friends except for Kai so those two not being around was hard.

Jinora was lying in bed trying to get to sleep but it was impossible. There was a storm in full swing right over Republic City.

Jinora has always hated storms. They always scared her. When she was little she used to go and sleep in her parents bed but she couldn't do that now. She was almost 18 for Ravaa's sake!

Crash Bang 

Another Lightning strike.

Jinora turned on her side and whispered to Ikki. Only there was no Ikki to whisper to.

Ikki had recently decided she wanted to travel the world and learn the cultures of every nation and live like Granpa Aang and Gran Gran Katara. Jinora sighed. It was going to be a long night.

It had been around 4 hours since the storm started and Jinora still couldn't get a wink. Every flash or crash made her jump and every bang or boom sent shivers down her spine. She remembered one night nearly two years and eight months ago...

Crash!

Great! another lightning storm. Jinora thought with fake enthusiasm. Jinora hated Thunder storms ever since she was a little girl. She lay in her bed jumping at every flash or crash made her jump and every bang or boom sent shivers down her spine. She decided there was no way off getting any sleep until she calmed down so she took a stroll around the temple, making sure to keep under cover.

She made her way to the meditation room and saw someone in the centre of the room in lotus position. She suspected her father as the figure but they looked to small to be him. She entered the room and got closer to the figure. She was about to reach out when the figure spoke.

"Can't sleep either?" 

Jinora let out a breath of relief. Kai.

He turned around and gave her a smirk. He held out his hand and she took it and helped him up.

Boom! 

Jinora jumped and nuzzled into Kai's open embrace. He chuckled and whispered in her ear.

"Let's get you back to bed."

Kai picked up the scared beauty bridal style and walked slowly back to her room, careful not to wake Ikki. He placed her down and whispered to her half awake form "Don't worry." And made his leave but he felt something stop him.

And by something he meant someone.

Jinora had latched onto his had and looked up at him with embarrassment.

"Stay? Please?"

He complied and got into bed next to her and cuddled her close. That was the first and final storm that Jinora had slept through peacefully.
