This happened to me four days ago and I'm still having creeps recalling the incident.
Exams are approaching in two weeks time, so I've been burning the midnight oil studying for it, only going to sleep around three or four in the morning.
That day, after closing my book and deciding to call it a night, I switched off the lights and crawled into my bed before making myself comfortable under the covers. However, for some unknown reason, I just couldn't fall asleep. Something was bothering me.
Sighing in frustration, I sat up and grabbed my phone from the nightstand. I started to scroll through pages mindlessly, from things like 'how to make a unicorn cupcake' to 'urban asian horror legends'. The internet speed was alright at first, but when I opened a particular site about gruesome crimes, only the background was available.
It was black in colour with the face of woman a little to the right. What should have been her eyes are just empty sockets and her jaw is lowered in a silent scream. Although I usually have a strong heart for horror, this made me slightly uncomfortable as I prayed for the words to load so I would have them to distract me from the background at least.
1... 2... 3...
By the third second, the page finished loading.
I stared at it.
The background is actually white in colour.
