I Believe
I believe in the bittersweet taste
Of the lies you fed me, day after day
I sing to the blush of the moon
That lingers in my memories, stay angel stay
I lie in the crimson ashes
Of a heartache desperate to say goodbye
I swallow the beautiful illusion
Of a symphony, sweet seduction step aside
Take this dream, this shameful dreamless sleep
Take this pretense, this vase of make-believe
I believe in today, and today whispers gold
I believe in someday, in what love can unfold
I wish upon the angel, of remorse and sympathy
I wish upon the demon, of tearful kindness and misery
I wish upon the truth, that tricky truth never standing still
I wish upon the wishes I make, the ones that haunt my reality
I believed in the naive perception
Of a heart too innocent to die
I swore by the charming deception
Of a face too sweet to lie
I fell for the words of a song
Of a fable too good to be true
I was lost in the mind of a little girl
Of a fear I never knew
