Chapter Four

We enter the courtyard. Suddenly Allison looks nervous when Principal Johansson passes by. Suddenly Allison calls out, "Mrs. Johansson?" Principal Johansson turns around and chirps, "Allison! The angel herself! I've been looking for you!" "About that... can we talk?" Allison asks quietly, "sure." Mrs Johansson assures her. They walk away talk near the lake. "Angel? Allison is really nice but... angel?" Kate wonders, "let's not worry about it. Let's just have a good time..." I tell her.

Allison walks back to us. "Hey guys... We were just talking about my grades! That was nothing I pro-" "what were you guys talking about?!" Kate exclaims, "nothing! It's fine!" Allison sputtered, "guys calm down. Okay?" I say calmly as they both stare at me.

"Okay... I guess so!"

"You better guess so."

Good... everything's normal!

" Hey... Let's go to the lake!" Kate announces, "okay!" I agree, "that sounds fun I guess..." Allison said. We all walk to the lake together.

"It's so pretty!" Kate squeals, "oh wow that looks refreshing..." Allison implies, "don't we need a bathing suit?" I ask, "no!" Kate exclaimed, as she pushes me and Allison into the water and giggles. She laughs and jumps into the water.

"So... do you guys have any crushes?" Kate ask, "no. We just got here..." Allison says in a monotone voice. Speaking of crushes, I look over and see a boy... kind of cute? I guess...

Maybe I should talk to him tonight...

"Hey! Guys! Maybe I should talk to that guy over there!" I whisper, "actually, that's Jason. I used to go to school with him. He's not really popular but all of the girls liked him in middle school! He's had a million girlfriends but he's nice I guess. To be honest he's not my type." Allison whispers. Me and Kate are in awe. "You know him?!" I sputter, "what did I just say?" Allison tells me. "This is so cool! Go talk to him Annabelle!" Kate says excitedly, "maybe..." I mumble, as I look over at him again.

Jason... nice name...

"How do I talk to him?" I ask nervously, "like this!" Kate announces, as she playfully pushes me towards him.

No. I don't fall into his arms! And no. I don't bump into him. I actually kind of... push his friend out of the way... but yes, of course... I blush... blood red...

"Are you okay?"

Oh my goodness. He's speaking to me. Calm down Annabelle calm down!

He helps me up as his friend walks away as if I was some sort of witch. "Are you okay?" He ask again, "yes! I'm fine." I announce, "okay good. I'm Jason." He says.

I know.

"My name is Annabelle." I say, "which Annabelle?" He asks, "Manchester." I answer, "your in the Manchester family? They're bloody rich!" He exclaimed, "I didn't know I'm a big deal... does everybody know me?" I ask, "no. Its just that... I've never met anybody like you." He says.

Start a conversation! Quick!

"So... your in the lake with your clothes?" He asks amusingly.

Thank god...

"yes. My friend pushed me in so I guess I just stayed in these clothes." I explain, "cool." He says, "well, I gotta go! Bye!" I stutter, walking away.

"What did he say?" Kate ask, "we had an actual conversation..." I say. "One second..." Allison mumbles, as she walks over to Mrs. Johansson.

"I wonder what's going on..." I say, "yeah. Everything's fine though! I trust Allison!" Kate chirps, as she swims over to some rocks. "Come on Annabelle!" Kate calls.

"I'll be right there!" I call back.
