Dear Diary,
Tomorrow is my 10th birthday. Mum wants to take me to a restaurant with a few of my friends, but I have a better idea. I'd like to go to the park with Kai. Kai is my best friend, but my Mum doesn't know anything about him, or who he is. He is real. Kai is great, he's funny, he loves rock-pooling and climbing, just like I do. I try and sit with him at school all the time, but he always gets moved because he talks too much. My friend Cassie wants to be his girlfriend, but she doesn't have a chance.
Well, got to go shopping for something to wear for my birthday treat. I am not wearing a dress!
