Stuck On A Word

Lost for words

Stuck on something new

Thinking backwards

A writer without a clue

My head is spinning

Full of bewilderment

Wanting to just give up on trying

Trying to make a statement

Looking around the halls

For a bit of inspiration

But the blank white walls

Give me no notion

Waiting impatiently

For an idea to come along

I have just one inquiry

How long will this go on?

Clenching my fists

Biting my lip

When nothing seems to exist

I watch as I let my paper rip

The pen quivers

As it edges the remains

A flame flickers

As the blankness starts to drain

The clock ticks faster

As things brighten

Realisation is the word

The one I asked for

I looked at the sky

I have been aided

Ideas flying by

So long I have waited

Filled with pride

I can’t hide my smile

As my pen strides

It’s been a while

Now it is finished

I’m happy now

Not much is it?

But I’ll never give up, I vow.
