They launch the Kite
into the Air with such flair
letting it fly
reaching higher than high
with hope of the sky,
And then pull it back down to Earth.
It’s a game the like to play
They say “you’ll see
the flight
the height
and the soaring sight,
And the tearful tumble when it’s pulled back down to Earth.”
They cannot possibly know
for what the Kite aspires:
to fly with clouds and birds
to paint the Air with its words
or that it wishes for that desperate day
when the draw string snaps, expires
so the Kite can fly away...
