Eight: Mediocre

-Mediocre-

Trying to force inspiration

When it just isn't coming

And I don't want to write simply for the sake of writing

I want to write something meaningful

But it seems like everything good has already been written

And how can anything of mine

Even compare?

I just don't write as beautifully as some

I don't have a ton of creativity

And I don't want to settle for mediocre

But what if that's all I'll ever be?

Not only in writing, but in everything?

The thought of that terrifies me.
