Chapter Four

"Okay, so that girl over there is Yasmin, the senator's daughter. She has the fame and the fortune, and could have almost anyone in this school, but she settles for Curtis, the school's guard." Daphne pointed over to a couple chatting by the wall. Curtis was a tall and very handsome apparently with a stone structural frame. On the other hand, Yasmin was a beauty queen; perfect straight, blonde hair with a nice body. I don't play that team, if you're thinking that way.

"So any of you have a boyfriend?" I asked Ivy, Daphne and the redhead I had just met. Felicity, I believe her name was?

"No," the three of them said together at the right moment. I begun to laugh at their same expressions too.

"No one? Not even a crush?" At least one of them had to feel something for someone.

"Nope," Daphne shuck her head.

"Na-da," Felicity said after her to make sure there were no longer speaking at the same time.

"I do like someone but we're not together, not to say even talking." Ivy frowned down at her folded hands.

"Don't worry," I patted her hands with a reassuring smile. "He'll like you, I mean who doesn't with those cute chubby cheeks?"

I squeezed both sides and pulled gently not to hurt her. I felt kind of bad for her. I know the feeling of having to like someone who will never like you back. No one accepted me because I was a freak and how my life went. It was one of the worst feelings you could ever feel; rejected.

"So," I said, leaning forwards into the group again. "Who is it?"

Ivy hesitate for a few seconds before answering me. "Austin .."

"He does talk to you though. Remember, exchanging smiles at the dinner table?" I laughed, nudging her arm as the other two 'aw'ed. Her cheeks were tinted a pink, not too noticable though. From the corner of my eye, I caught the same guy from earlier staring at the side of my face; the one with the tattoo.

"Hey, Ivy?" I leaned in when Daphne and Felicity left back to their rooms. The didn't want to season finally os Survivor. Ivy nodded her head, staring at me like I was a maniac.

"Who's the one over there, tattooed right arm?" I had to ask, just out of curiousity. Plus he's kind of cute ..

"Oh, that's Snake," Ivy laughed at me. "Ou, someone's gotta crush!" She held out her hand for a slap, which I did because in a way, it was like a goal I had just achieved.

"What kind of a name is Snake anyways?" To be honest, it was quite a random name. I don't think anyone has ever met a person with it. I turn to see if he was still looking my way, which he wasn't, but Austin caught me. And immediately, he told his best friend. Crap.

"He was nicknamed that because of his strength and tremendous speed. People would actually say he could glide across the room in a second with no sounds, which makes him lethal," I don't know if I should be scared of him or be happy we had him on our side.

"He's actually a nice guy though," she said quickly after my change of expression. I just nodded at her with a smile.

The rest of the night, we laughed, talked, gossiped, and ate even more. A usual night with friends. Yup, I got friends now, what a wonderful world.

After the introducing myself to what seemed like a million people, I finally got the chance to return to my room for some rest. No talking, no smiling, just peace.

There was a slight, three taps against the door. No peace quite yet .. I walked around to the other side of my bed and turned the doorknod, seeing the smiling woman.

"Elia," Harmony said with a sweetness in her voice. "I brought you something for a special welcoming gift."

She leaned over to her left, picking up a basket full of sweets, crackers, cheese, pop, Survival Power 101, and a set of keys with a red and gold envelope. I guess she did research on me because the food i liked her in there, even cheese.

"Thank you, it's really nice of you." I carried it over to the back table and gently set it down to make sure the pop wouldn't explode.

"It was no problem. it's our job to make our family happy and feel welcoming."

Yeah, except for Levata. I thought.

"I know you'll settle down quickly and make lots of friends." Harmony patted my shoulder, smiling even wider. I'm guessing it must of hurt, doing that for 24/7.

I nodded at her. "I do hope so."

She nodded back at me and looked over to where the basket was laid. "I have to go now and grade the some papers. Please read what's in the envelope. It's quite a important event for all."

Harmony left quickly, rushing to a room down the hall. That's weird. She only said 2 or 3 sentences to me. Oh well, more rest for me then!

I picked up a yellow sweater and purple shorts, changing the evenings look into a comfy one before climbing into my nice, cold bed. I tucked all sides into my body, which was what I always do before sleeping, and stared out the window. It was dark enough, only 10:26, but I was determined to dream, one way or another. Before I knew it, I began sleeping like a baby, even drooled like one too.

- Okay, so I know this chapter is boring & I'm sorry, but the next few chapters will be good, especally the event, so bare with me? I've been waiting for it ever since I thought of the story idea : )
