You were sitting by the fire that illuminated faces of all that were huddled around it. Their dark skin was in high contrast with yours, pale and in the light of the shimmering flame, their faces looked even darker. You were sitting among them - Mohawks, in the Mohawk settlement and you were listening to their stories and their songs. It was even more breathtaking than you'd ever imagine.

Connor was whispering into your ear silently. Their words were unfamiliar to you, so he offered to translate their stories and conversations into your language that you could understand. His presence in combination with the atmosphere made you shiver and you could feel pleasant crawling on your skin. You were not shivering because of the cold, though. The heat radiating from the fire kept you warm and comfortable and being so close to the body of the young man sitting beside you encouraged the warm feeling. You were shivering because of him, because you were so excited.

You felt his hot breath near your ear and the burning heat inside of your body nearly exploded. Maybe he was not aware of the effect he had on you, but others noticed, for sure. Some of his mates from the Mohawk clan occasionally sent glances towards the both of you with a knowing smile on their faces. It felt like they already knew something that you and Connor were not aware of yet.

One of the elderly women wrapped in thick mohawk blanket smiled at you sincerely. Silence, calmness and goodness were radiating of her. She was warm and welcoming from the first moment Connor introduced you to his clan. She didn't send you any unpleasant or suspicious glance like others did. She was open and kind and you were thankful for that. Connor brought you with him - a stranger who did not belong to their clan, to their settlement, but at the end of the day they all accepted your presence and welcomed you among them. They even let you attend their evening session by the bonfire and it was incredible experience. You had never experienced something so unique and magical before.

The old granny looked at Connor and said something, however you did not understand her words, she was speaking in their mohawk language. Even thought you could not understand, you were fascinated by the sound of their mother tongue. Connor was a little bit shocked at first, then he glanced at the granny too and his face got a bit red. He glared at her and spat something back, still in their language. You could tell that he was embarrassed, but the granny was still smiling widely. A though occurred in your mind - maybe she was mocking him a bit. And he did not like it. You on the other hand loved to see him embarrassed and could not help the small giggle that escaped your mouth.

Then the old woman burst out into a loud laugh suddenly. Her laugh was contaminating. You were fascinated as you looked into her kind, wrinkled yet peaceful face. The others that heard their conversation smirked too, like they something you did not. Connor was even more embarrassed and he growled lowly, his cheeks still a bit red. You felt your own face heating up a little.

When the attention of others was brought to another mohawk man, who was telling a story, Connor leaned to you once more.

"That's Chochming:wu, in your language it means Mother of the Corn. Every single member of our clan has their own special unique name with unique meaning." As he was explaining their customs to you, he quickly nodded his head toward the kind old granny. "She was the one that made that dreamcatcher for you."

You quickly glanced at your trinket tied around your wrist and then smiled at the woman thankfully.

"What mohawk name would you give to me?" You asked him suddenly. The question surprised him, he took a time thinking about it for a while. For a moment his eyes studied your face and you felt his intense glance in the every gut in your stomach, the feeling was overwhelming and your heart skipped a beat. Then he finally made up his mind.

"Bonita." His words were silent, yet steady and he did not stop savoring your face with his eyes.

"Bonita? What is the meaning of the name?" You asked curiously. He only shook his head, refusing to answer your question. He claimed that it was a secret. The way his lips slowly curled in a mysterious smirk made you wonder even more. It was like a fuel to the curious fire that burned inside of you. The fire that was set by the young mohawk man sitting with you and enjoying quiet evening accompanied by the heat from the bonfire and catching stories from the other members of his family.

I also want to thank you all for your amazing votes and heartwarming comments. I appreciate them all with my heart. I'm so sorry for my poor English, hopefully you can ignore mistakes, typpos, weird sentences and focus on a story instead. Thank you again and have a great summer! There are only two more chapters left and then we'll be finished ;) I promise to hurry and update soon this time. Keep your fingers crossed for me.
