Gaea's breath clouds misty cold
And settles on bare limbs
Flocked in icy crystal light
And sound of nature's hymns
From a long cold winter night
Her beauty springs bright white
Though cloudless blue our new born sun
Will grace her face with light
The symphony begins quite small
With piping praise of birds
Exalting melody expands
With nary pallid words
Staccato beat is pounded out
With heavy ivory bill
And brassy call of black birds all
They harmonize with skill
Barking squirrels, the base note phrase
Strum notes that stir the heart
Musicians play a variant
With every new day's start
