When life exhaled its first sigh, she was already listening to the rhythm of its pulse. The heartbeat, was her clock. She could stand in one place and not move for an eternity, just listening to the heartbeats. When the time is right, she stops the drumming underneath that chest and takes the soul. So many voices, along with the continuous refrain of the accompanying percussions of their hearts, spoke to her continuously. Simultaneously, her consciousness could reach the minds of all those she was going to claim and deliver to the Paths.
