The collective unconscious is the universal nature deep within all of humanity. It is a wilderness where we can get in touch with the sources of life. It is a library of wisdom and shared experiences; it is our inner divinity. The collective unconscious is simplified through archetypes, which are inborn tendencies that shape human behavior. They are the various roles found in creative expression like stories, myths, and fairytales. Most archetypes exist within us, although different individuals have different predominant archetypes.
