Dan's life had seemed to be increasingly worse since his last converation with Phil. His body was completely raw with cuts and scars, all he'd do was go home and cry everyday. He'd not eaten all week, and he didn't think he was going to be able to move on. Phil's punches were getting increasingly harder, it felt like, and his his body was covered in blue and black more than ever. His body wasn't getting enough nutrients to heal, and somehow, his parents didn't notice. Phil would always avoid his face, so neither of them got caught. smart.
