The shade beneath the oak tree was overbearing today. I felt as though it was slowly smothering me. The oak tree was always changing. Sometimes I would sit under the tree and there would not be an inch of shade, and some days there would be shade as far as my vision could reach. As time went on, I began to realize the oak tree corresponds with my emotions. Whenever she leaves me, the tree turns bare and pale. The tree looks as if it is a cold, dreary, dead winter, but the surrounding area remains warm. When I see her smile, small apple blossoms appear on the tree, but when I feel her love for me, hundreds of bright, red apples grow. Yes, of course, I know oak trees do not grow apples or flowers, but emotions can do outlandish things. When I finally decide not to continue my depressive mood, the winter oak changes to a plenary, leafy tree where it remains for a while. The shade is overbearing today because I am skeptical to see if my method works. What method, you may ask? I guess I will have to tell my story for you to understand.
