Waiting Game

Waiting Game

They hide,

In the shadows,

In the corners,

Waiting.

They whisper,

In your mind,

Out loud,

Driving you mad.

They watch,

Finding your strengths,

Finding your weaknesses,

Forming a plan.

They disguise themselves,

To be just like you,

They trick you,

They use you.

But two can play that game.

You hide,

In plain sight,

In the spotlight,

Waiting.

You speak,

Not loud,

Nor quiet,

Playing the part.

You watch,

Finding their strengths,

Finding their weaknesses,

You form a plan.

You wear a mask,

So they can’t see,

What you know,

What you don’t.

And then it’s time.

In a world full of deceit,

Just remember,

Revenge is sweet.
