False nights are good to hear
Pitter- patter on the floor board
Giggles from the late night baths
Shadows dancing everywhere
Lipstick stains the sheets and cheeks
Tripping over all these toys
The background voices of every outing
Cold hands to kiss
Strawberry ice-cream to keep it sweet
Truthful days are hard to see
Footprints fading on the floor board
Early baths yield with laughter
Sunlight stalking every room
Tear stains that turn these cheeks weak
Kicking all these games out
Every outing dismissed with cold kisses
Expired ice-cream to keep it real
The different ways to find home, when your child is no longer near.
