"Eww! Get away from me sea-monster!" a girl sreeched

Every one laughed

Poor Crystal...

"Yeah, your hair so icky!" cried someone else

Crystal just stood there, looking to the ground

She was used to this...

Well, you see, Crystal was born with blue hair. The unique colour, and she hated it. She wish she had golden or black hair, like all the other girls, and because of the unusual colour, every one found it fun to tease.

She stroked a bit of it, looking at it in disgust. It's long straight bits flickered with the wind, as if an element with it. Her streaks of many shades of blue, could easily stand out in any background.

"My hair is different to your's..." she said

"Yea! We know! And its different because it's ugly and looks like vomit!" another shouted

Crystal's eyes started to fill with tears

"Actually, her hair is the worst in the world! BLUE!!! Ask your mum to cut it, you will look better with no hair than with your horrid blue hair!" a boy said

Now tears had built up, leaving them pouring down her cheeks.

"Hey i know what we can do! We can add some colour to it!" a girl snotted

"Yea..." They all whispered

Each of them picked up a sandy rock, and threw it at Crystal. Dust and brown dirt landed in her head. And for the bad aimeres, hitting her on the forehead or stomach or legs. She was in pain.

She was stil standing there.

With no one to defend her.

So she ran. Crystal was a fast runner, and was way ahead of the other people chasing her.

She made way to her favourite place.

The Sapphire tree...

It was all blue, the trunk, branches, foliage. Everything. It was as if the tree was Crystal.

Blue.

The roots were very clear in the dirt, they knarled together, like vines. The tree's leaves shined in the sun, leaving the tree to twinkle, and glimmer.

It was absolutley a beautiful sight.

 She plucked off a leaf.

The tree was only blue to her sight, and to the others, a simple oak tree.

Nothing special.

Lame.

It's delicate designs and aqua colour, set a shine to the texture. As if encrusted with crystals.  She put it in her pocket, keeping it safe. She walked around the tree, and swong on one of it's branches. She felt, like the tree was her only friend. She was so lonely, so sad, so solemn, and mostly, so different.

She walked around some more, feeling the tree and it's torquise bark. Surprisingly she found a hole in the tree.

That was NEVER there before...

Perfect enough to fit a five-year old. She studied it carefully.

Careful and serene, and decorated with snow-crystals. She peered into the crystals, and saw her reflection.

Actually she was a pretty girl, blue eyes...

And blue hair...

"Whatcha doing? Talking to trees?" Rachel smirked again.

"Tree whisperer!" everyone choursed

Now Crystal felt uncomfortable. They chourused even more louder, making Crystal dash for the hole.

To Rachel and the others, they didn't see the hole, and it looked as if she ran through the tree, like a ghost.

Crystal inside...

On brown bits of leaves.

They looked dull, the normal colours. Crystal felt safe there, uncompanied by the world.

It was completley silent...

Except for the slight whisper of leaves...

She felt some how, with another person, and this time, not lonely.

Crystal closed her eyes....

She tucked up and slept...

And slept...

And slept...

And slept...

And slept, for six years...
