The voices come out when she's surrounded.
They swirl in her head, around her body, chattering and clicking when she's alone, but they only truly speak to her when there are people who live in the world of silence.
How pathetic, they sneer, caressing her cheeks and sullied skin with velvet waves. Disgusting. To survive in a world without sound.
They're dead.
And when they are surrounded by silence, she can't hear them.
So she has no one else to believe but the voices.
