Today I saw the world I love,
The place I made a home in,
Reform around me, piece by piece,
without me within.
I knew I'd moved on but foolishly,
I thought I was still needed,
That every thought I could supply
Was urgent and would be heeded.
The facade has faded - I see the truth,
That rose glasses cannot hide.
The world moves on to better things.
And by time I must abide.
I don't begrudge them all their joy,
I like to think I share it,
And can find it in my memories,
Or future, if I dare it.
