Bon fire.

The morning was hot per usual and as always Sahel is being her lazy self. "I'm hitting the shower!" Train called out as she slammed the bathroom door shut. I sighed, looks like I'll have to wake her up myself.

I grabbed a pillow near by and smashed it at her head. She didn't move. "Oh you've got to be kidding me." I hualted the pillow up in the air and positioned it for another go. "IM AWAKE!" Sahel suddenly blurted out, though her eyes were still shut.

"Get up you lazy ass." I commented whilst walking out. I noticed an envelope that was slided under our front door. It was pink and had fancy caligraphy writing.

I teared open th efine paper and in it was an invitation to a bon fire. A bon fire! Finally, we get to see Queensland at its finest.

"So you got our invitation!" A voice came from behind the door. I jumped as it startled me. "A bon fire?" Sahel asked scratching her nest like hair. "Yeah,' I replied, "The boys invited us to a bon fire at the beach."

"And don't forget there will be marshmallows." The same voice spoke again. Sahel and I exchanged confused looks and then opened the door.

"Brandon?" Sahel exclaimed, "What the fuck are you doing?" Brandon flashed his eye lashes and whispered, "Waiting for you my love."

Sahel slammed the door shut on his face and called out, "See you at the bon fire."

After Train came out of the shower, she had a towel wrapped around her perfectly shaped body. We told her about the bon fire and before we knew it, we were preparing.

6 am, was the time we had to be there, but decided to get there late in an orderly fashion. Sahel curled her hair and wore a flower crown in those dark waves. She wore a dark blue highlow and sandals to math her painted pink toe nailes.

Train how ever went for the classy look. Her hair was tied in a low bun, wore a half top and shorts. Bracelets consumed her arm and thongs wore her.

I decided to wear a yellow flowy dress and tied my hair in a messy high pony tail. I then wore thongs. And that was it, my outfit was set.

We bought a few snacks to the beach even though we were told not to bring a thing. Sahel began to open a packet while we walked down to the beach. It was right across our hotel. Train and I shot Sahel a look. "What? I'm hungry." Train and I began to laugh.

The air was warm, but not too warm, it was perfect. The sun was setting half way and shone a bright orange colour. I took the time to embrace this heavenly nature. I breathed in heavily and exhaled lightly, it was a perfect summer night.

We took out thongs and sandals off when we got to the beach. The boys had already began a fire which burnt brightly through the dark night. Laterns that hung around us swayed slowly within the breeze.

"Hey girls, over here!" Luke called out. As we approached, we sat on the logs beside them.

Train sat next to Callan, Sahel next to me, and I next to Darcy. Two logs were shared among us. The boys had a cooler and they got us a drink.

"Hey, Sahel!" Brandon called out. Sahel looked at me and rolled her eyes, "Ah hum? Yes!" I gave her a confused look. She nudged me in the shoulder, "Talk to me!" She gritted.

"OH, right. Um..." I began, only realising. Before we could actually engage in any sort of conversation Darcy turned to face me. "I hope things aren't awkward between us?" He said. "Awkward? No. I mean, I am an awkward person, but... this isn't awkward... I just made it awkward didn't I?" I stammered. I took a sip of my drink and made a bitter face.

This was alcohol. He laughed, "Don't worry its light and legal." I smiled back and said nothing. "Lets go for a walk on the beach." Train suggested getting up. We all agreed and started walking along side the beach.

Train and Callan lead the way, Sahel and Brandon next, then Darcy and I. Luke walked behind us, but he was on the phone. "The bon fire doesn't really start until late, because there's going to be fireworks." Darcy explained. My eyes widened, "Fireworks?" I repeated. He laughed and grabbed my hand. I didn't hesitate nor did I flinch.

Brandon on the other hand, wasn't getting anywhere with Sahel. "So, it's hot isn't it?" Brandon said stretching his arms and pretending to yawn. "Don't you dare!" Sahel said walking faster. He followed oblivious to un interested message she was sending him.

The sand was still warm, but cooling in the process. I let my feet sink in with every step. Enjoying this peaceful moment.

We walked back to the bon fire and the night began to get cold. Train and Callan still leading the way. "Are you cold?" Callan asked Train. Train shrugged, but Callan still took of his hoody and wrapped it around her. She hugged it tight and tippy toed to kiss him on the cheek.

Brandon saw this as an opportunity to make a move. "Are you cold?" He asked Sahel. She looked at Brandon and smiled, "Yes. Luckily I bought a jacket though." Brandon was confused, "Well, where is it then?" Sahel rolled her eyes, "I was kidding." He then beagn to take off his jumper, "Here take mine." He held it out for her to take. "No thank you." Sahel replied.

Darcy and I secretely laughed, not much was said during the walk back. I guess we all just enjoyed the peace and quiet too much.

Back at the bon fire, the fire was flaming. Creating an orange glow around the sand. The latterns produced light around out area. The boys went to get some things from their pic nik basket.

Out came three blankets. Callan bought one for Train and himself. They wrapped it around each other and Train rested her head on his chest. Brandon then bought one for Sahel and surprisingly they snuggled up. Then Darcy, Luke and I shared one.

We then got marshmallows and poked them onto a stick and put them int he fire to roast. "What would you do if you had $1 million dollars to spend in one day?" Luke asked eating his marshmallow. Train took a sip of her drink and replied, "I would buy a hotel in Queensland, so we could live here when ever we want."

"Or why not a beach house?" Callan suggested. "And I would buy a plane, so we can come to Queensland when ever we want." I added. "And also clothes! Heaps and heaps of clothes!" Sahel said. "More like you need less clothes." Brandon said cheekily. "Ew, you pervert!" Sahel said shoving him in the chest. "You knwo you love it." Brandon groaned in pain.

Everyone around laughed and enjoyed the company of the warm blanket and the heat from the flame. It was perfect. "Try this," Darcy said pointing his stick at me. It was corn. "Corn? Are you serious?" I laughed. "It's good, trust me." He replied also laughing. I took a bite out of it and was amazed by the yummy smoky flavour that came out of it. "Mmm!" I exclaimed, "Nice isn't it?" Darcy asked taking a bite. "It's good."

We then talked about food and what we liked to eat in the summer, it seemed alomst perfect to be true. "Pineapple is my favourite fruit." Sahel said, "I like pineapple too, but you can't go past watermelon." Train added. "Those are all nice fruit, but grapes are the best always!" Brandon protested. "Fruit? What about ice-cream in the summer?" Luke said. "Yes, ice-cream is amazing in hot weather!" I agreed. We all shared a laugh while roasting more marshmallows.

Suddenly a burst of colour shot through the sky followd by a loud bang. "Fireworks!" Sahel pointed out. We watched as each one bursted, filling the sky with magical colours. Different colours, different shape. We watched amazed at the beauty. The night was dark and the breeze comes and goes.

"That's what I see when we kiss." Callan said looking into Train's eyes. "A bit cheesy don't you think?" She teased. They laughed and shared a kiss.

There we were on a warm summer night, wrapped in a blanket, sitting around a bon fire, roasting marshmallows and watching the fireworks. This night was perfect. Picture perfect.
