Chapter 24
Just Keep Breathing...

A/N - And END SCENE! That was so cheesy, but I just had to do it. Well this is the final chapter to probably one of my favorite stories to ever write. I can't believe I was able to finish this in just about a month, but it wasn't without the help of you all. Your comments and support kept me going and pushed me to finish this properly. All of your words were so overwhelming and I still can't believe that Bullet gained the support that it did. I reached bold red. BOLD RED. I never imagined reaching that while being a member on Wattpad. I have you all to thank for that.
But most of all, I hope you all were able to, at least a little bit, see that bullying does crazy things to people. You should really talk to someone if you feel like you're about to fall off the edge, even if you're embarrassed. And breathe...don't allow those people to get the best of you. I know middle school and high school seems like this long, ungodly process that you can't escape. But you eventually do. You get rid of those people and move onto new ones. As Travis Clark sings in the WTK song off to the side & the words I've even held close to my heart...Just Keep Breathing and you'll get through, I promise. Happy reading! Also, special thanks to Stephanie for the banner to the side, it's beautiful! And thank you all so much for everything! :)

When I got to Grayson's door, I still wasn't sure what I was going to say. I wasn't planning on declaring my love for him in some overly dramatic speech or flailing my arms around like an idiot. I knew that the both of us still had a lot that needed to be discussed, especially the fact that we were supposed to be giving each other time and I certainly wasn't abiding by that rule.

Taking a deep breath and preparing myself for what could potentially be a wrong turn in this winding road of mishaps I'd gotten myself into, I knocked on the door a few times. I half expected to see Mrs. Foster answer the door in her apron and floured cheeks once more, but was shocked to see someone I didn't expect.

"Oh! Callie, dear, I'm sorry," Mrs. Wayland sputtered, laying a hand on her heart as she almost walked right into me. I guess no one heard me knock on the door.

"It's alright, Mrs. Wayland," I smiled. "Came to visit with Grayson?"

She nodded, a grin spreading across her face. "Grayson and I visit once in a while when I find some things he might like from Carter's room. They were best friends so I figure it's only right to allow him a piece of Carter that was left."

"That's really nice of you."

She just shrugged, brushing her bangs out of her eyes and side-stepping to get around me from the doorway. "Grayson's such a sweet boy and he helped Carter so much. It's the least I can do. Have a wonderful day, Callie."

I waved to her as she smiled at me one last time before walking to her car. She had an empty cardboard box, probably once full of little things of Carter and she placed it in the passenger seat before driving off, gesturing a wave.

Before I could sink into the awkwardness of this situation, noting that I couldn't just walk inside Grayson's house without being welcomed in, Grayson's mom met me at the door with an overbearing grin. She didn't have an apron on this time and she wasn't covered in baking goods. She was just dressed in normal soccer mom attire, a pair of stretch pants and a v-neck t-shirt that hugged her waist.

"Callie! It's nice to see you again," she beamed. "Grayson's up in his room."

I nodded, biting my lip as I realized what I was about to do. I hated that I was so stubborn and couldn't manage a few simple words to tell Grayson how much I needed him. Not just for that one moment back at the prison, but for all the days after that. I wished I could just go up there and put it all out there without hesitation.
