A/N: This is a sequel to my previous short story "Priorities" starring Reese and Matt. I hope you'll appreciate this story since I underwent so many writer's blocks because of this and school.

Dedicated to VeaThereseCruz again since she really supports Matt and Reese. :)

**************

A long time has passed since I last talked to my former best friend, Angel. I haven't seen that traitor, Matt, as well. But I'm still here. A senior. Still Reese.

"I wonder who the nominees will be for prom king and queen," a classmate said while we waited for our teacher to enter the classroom. We are currently having Biology and the teacher is still not here. The worst thing, though, is Angel is here as well. She's mad at me for breaking the "dibs" rule on Matt a few months back.

"Okay, prayer leader," Sir Emanz said as he entered the lab. One of my classmates went to the front and led the opening prayer before we began the lesson. "Leaders, check the homeworks of your group mates"

The leaders, including Angel, stood up from their seats and signed the notebooks of their group mates. Finally, they approached Sir Emanz so he can sign their notebooks. After the leaders sat back on their seats, Sir Emanz began asking us about what sound is, intensity, loudness, and pitch.

"What is frequency?" Sir Emanz asked. "Reese."

I gave a start. "Isn't it Matt's band?" I involuntarily replied, or rather, whispered. When Sir Emanz asked me to repeat my answer, I stammered and said, "I mean frequency is the number of vibrations undergone during one unit of time."

"Correct," Sir Emanz said. After that, he discussed what sound was and after about twenty minutes, he instructed us to form two straight lines because we will go down to practice for our performance task, Human Sounds.

Our class is divided into two and I belonged to the first group while Angel belonged to the second group. Before we started, we saw the second group scattered around the grounds while we neatly formed ourselves near the stage.

I looked up and saw a line of boys walking along the third floor and as I looked at Angel, who was talking to Sir Emanz at that moment, I saw her give a little wave at......gasp!......Matt!

I felt fury as I saw her try to make our teacher a bridge between her and Matt. But I didn't have to worry about it. I am friends with Marie, a girl who is a close friend of Matt, and I can use her as MY bridge for Matt.

At that moment, I saw Angel who seemingly complained to Sir Emanz about something and I think he didn't agree with whatever she had planned in mind. After forty minutes, we went back upstairs to our next class.

A few bitter weeks passed by and one afternoon after we were dismissed by our Statistics teacher, I immediately caught up to Marie saying, "I want to talk to Matt again."

"No problem," Marie said without hesitation. "Let's go before the scouts whistles for the flag down."

"You mean your ultimate crush, David," I teasingly remarked.

"He's not my crush," Marie insisted. "I simply think he's handsome but I don't like him like that, okay?"

"Whatever you say," I put in. "Let's go." I grabbed Marie's hand and rushed downstairs by the flag pole where a few scouts gathered for the flag down in half an hour. When we arrived, I saw Matt restlessly walking back and forth while scratching his head.

"There he is," Marie told me.

"I know. I can see him," I scolded her. "Don't tease me while I talk to him."

Marie simply giggled as I slowly and shyly approached the tall boy. "Matt," I softly said. He quickly turned his head in my direction and I saw his sweet smile flash on his face again and I felt flutters and butterflies in my stomach when the thought about him smiling because he saw me entered my mind.

"Reese," he said. My heart beat faster when I heard him say my name.

Before I even opened my mouth to talk, I was suddenly grabbed by my hair and pulled painfully. I saw Matt and other onlookers look curiously at us. "Help! Who is this?" I tried to turn my head but I couldn't. I dropped my bag on the ground and began fighting back. Once again I tried to turn my head and saw a very familiar face--Angel!

"Angel! Stop," I pleaded while shouting and attempting desperately to free my hair from her grasp. A few more seconds of argument went on before a teacher passed by and saw us. Fortunately, he was a Physical Education teacher and he was fit enough to free my hair from Angel's clutches. "Thank you very much, Sir Dan."

But Sir Dan was curiously horrified. "What on earth was going on? Do you want me to report the two of you to the prefect of students with the case of physical violence?"

Angel and I silently nodded. Sir Dan looked at us seriously for a few more seconds before walking on. I was embarrassed.

Matt was speechlessly standing there and before any of us recovered from shock, a girl with brown hair which appeared ironed, wore red-rimmed geek glasses, and red Supras, approached our group.

"Hi Matt," she greeted flirtatiously.

My jaw dropped as I waited for Matt's response tensely.

"Hello Chloe," he said with a pretend smile. He didn't mind us after that as he swung an arm around her shoulders and they walked away from us.

Suddenly, I felt tears in my eyes as I slowly turned to Angel. I suddenly felt ridiculous after fighting with my former best friend over a boy who is not worth our time. Before I was able to apologize to Angel, however, she walked away.

"I saw Matt today with a girl," a classmate of mine informed me.

I grunted and said, "I don't care."

Bu she laughed at my response. "Everybody knows he is just broken hearted when you didn't say yes to him after courting you in your classroom," she explained. "I feel pity for the Chloe girl because she is just a substitute for him to use to forget about you but I know he really likes you....a lot."

"Ridiculous," I insisted.

But it WAS true. After a week, rumor spread that Matt and Chloe, who I knew was a freshman, are over as in DONE. How fast!

One day I came across Angel and with no hesitation, I blocked her and said, "I apologize for breaking my promise to you and your dibs rule. What can I ever do to bring back our friendship? I frankly felt stupid when we fought over Matt when he already had a girlfriend. I really am sorry."

Angel was speechless. A tear dropped on her cheek and she hugged me. "I missed you, best friend."

After she said the words: BEST FRIEND, I felt happy once again. I didn't need Matt to cheer me up or any other boy who could ruin my friendship with my best friend.

In the midst of our reunion, Matt shyly interrupted. "Reese," he began.

I looked at Angel for approval on talking to him. She nodded with a genuine smile. I asked Matt, "What do you want?"

Before answering, Matt kneeled on the ground and took my hand. "I really like you, Reese. I can't take you off my mind even with the prettiest girls. For me, you are the most beautiful girl in the world. Please let me be your boyfriend."

I was astounded. "Matt, I--"

I was unable to finish my reply. "I don't care if you don't answer now. I can wait forever as long as we will be together forever."

I looked apprehensively at Angel, fearing that Matt's appearance would tear our friendship apart once again. She smiled at me and said, "It's okay with me. Congratulations, dear."

"You are willing to wait forever?" I repeated questioningly.

"Forever and ever," Matt said dreamily.
