Wattpad was a combination of everything one could want on internet. She could make new friends, read new books, publish something if she wanted to and even chat with people via meebo. It was so addictive that other sites began to seem pale in front of it. She even traded her facebook time for wattpad! It became her whole life.

She’d remain online 24X7, read continuously, become fan of multiple people just so she can chat with them and of course remain updated on their newest postings. The politics on the site amused her. She was most fascinated by the workings of the What’s hot list. It seemed to her that the stories which catered to pubescent minds dominated the list and not necessarily the good ones.

It was also evident that a lot of tactics went behind making a story popular. Pleasing other people was one of the important factors. It involved not only voting and commenting on other people’s work but also molding your story to reader’s preference. The stories which were based on popular topics seemed to attract readers like a cow’s arse attracting flies.

Her meticulously formed theories on the dynamics of wattpad was quite possibly true. It was time to put them to test. It was time for her to conquer wattpad.

Soon she jotted down a story. She wasn’t worried that much about the writing because according to her theories good writing didn’t matter as much as a plot following the popular trends. So instead of being concerned about what she posting, she focused on other things. Her first step was creating a crowd that will most definitely read her story. So she fanned people like a maniac without any particular reasons. She voted and commented relentlessly on other people’s work. It didn’t matter if she hadn’t really read anybody’s work. She would leave comments like- “Loved it, upload more soon!” Comments like this didn’t give away the fact that actually she hadn’t read anything.

People were grateful anyway. Votes and comments started pouring in, it was raining fans. It didn’t matter that most of the comments were aloof, like hers were. Some even had the audacity to write comments like- “Loved your story, read mine?” Very few were genuine comments but even still they were afraid of saying something that was outright harsh because she was turning out to be a wattpad giant, who was not one to be messed with. Her story was rapidly rising on the What’s hot list and had topped a few categories by this time.

It seemed to her that her sleepless nights, missed meals, ignored school work and dysfunctional life were paying up and she was going to be popular again. She was going to rise to the zenith and this time around she was there to say. What she didn’t realize was that after you reach the top, there’s only one place to go- Down.
