-Chapter 18-

"I don't think it's okay to leave just like that." I frowned.

"Of course it's not okay." Jarrell smirked mischievously, however looking as calm as ever.

"pfft," I folded my arms and huffed in anger.

This was five thirty sharp, when we finally took a step outside the hospital. By then, the sky was cleared of the clouds, giving a fantastic view of the picturesque evening sky. The random streaks of purple, pink and orange strokes in the sky had a romantic feel to which I couldn’t help but imagine if this was the colour that was always painted on my cheeks.

“I’m only taking you out for awhile, and besides I’m don’t have any evil intention of kidnapping you,” With that sinister smirk plastering on his face, I could tell well enough that he was teasing me. It’s not like I couldn’t do anything revengeful, I was nice enough not to. It was more than hard to resist that temptation in kicking his baby brother, but I would prefer not to resort to physical violence this time.

Until to the point where he wanted to test my attacking skills so badly like the last time I kicked his shin.

“Yeah right, which explains why you refrained me from calling Jo.” I complained.

“I don’t think Joanne’s got anything to do with where I’m bringing you?” He raised an eyebrow.

Don’t you find this scene similar in other books?

The male character brings the girl out alone as the sky darkens, the night lamps at the road pavement starting to lit up. The girl has encountered one of her most depressing moments, and the male characters brings her to his favourite hangout place, the most secluded location on earth.

There comes the cold air making you shiver into pieces, and you suddenly feel a warm material over your prickly skin. Then he mentioned how private this place means to him, and that she’s the first person he ever brought here to this place, making you feel greatly loved and appreciated. You suddenly find him leaning in towards you, and before you know it your clothes were ripped off instantly -

I shook my head hard. No, Rainie, not the time to be indulging into the story.

“So...where are we going?” I asked in curious.

“mmm, it’s a surprise.” His face held a subtle smile, making me more eager.

“I think I have the right to know.” Folding my arms, I eyed him suspiciously.

“Which part of ‘it’s a surprise’ do you not understand?” He said with a challenging tone.

“Surprise; an act of surprising or being surprised.” I replied confidently, clearly remembering the ‘dictionary.com’ web page I had visited numerous times. Well, I’m a nerd. It doesn’t take much effort to get this little meaning inside that frivolous head of mine.

“Funny.” He simply replied, as I shot him an unforgiving glare.

“Let me guess, are you going to bring me to your favourite place?” I raised my doubts, my heart palpitating furiously. Though mentally overjoyed, you and I both know that I’m quite professional in keeping my emotions. As such, I put on a blank expression on my face, just so Jarrell wouldn’t stand a chance to tease me. As easy as it sounds, my overflowing excitement was not something easily controllable.
