Oh Believe Me, I've Tried

*What's the meaning of black and blue?

Where do you go when we're through with you?

Why's the sky smirking something sinister?

How many days til the days are through?

The meanings of words you'll never comprehend,

Are the better halves of a means to an end,

So weak you are begging and pleading,

All sitting, watching you gushing and bleeding,

Those scabbing knees are the informal altar,

For you to wait for us to catch you falter,

Where's the end if you're asking for death?

If your eyes are so desolate how do you cry?

Why are you burning and failing all over again?

Is the humiliation so strong you want to die?

I want to see you beg for your life,

Show me why you deserve to survive,

We can wait a complete turn of years,

To finally see those pathetic tears,

Experiment to prove your worth,

"How could I be right from birth?"

Why do the birds sing and fall from the sky?

The final day is pushing closer those who've died,

I knew you thought you could escape,

"Oh believe me, I've tried."
