Time seems to be of no importance in this place, at least that is how I feel about it.

If you’d ask me how long I’ve been here, I wouldn’t know what to say.

The days came by in a blur as I drifted on and off to sleep.

Sometimes I’d be awake because of so much pain.  It felt like my face was on fire and that there was a drill inside my head.

A nurse would then give me something and I immediately fell asleep.

If you’re ever in my room you’ll notice how dark it is.  The curtains are drawn all the time and only a lamp lights up the place.

You won’t even see my face because of the bandages around my head.

No it wasn’t an accident that made me this way.

It wasn’t inflicted by another person if that’s what you think.

There has always been something off, something different with how I looked.

Something that made me wince when I looked at myself in the mirror.

It was an ugliness I had ever since I can remember, a difference that set me apart from other people.

And so I waited and when the time came that I can do it, I opted for a face reconstruction.

Just so I can feel normal.

Just so I can feel that I'm not a monster.

*Now that the story is already finished, it's now in the process of being edited and reconstructed to address the many errors I haven't noticed or had time to fix before. So yeah, this version still got loads of errors. hehe cheerios.
