Oddity

Yesterday I heard that I had two faces

From a stranger wearing the mask of a friend.

Yesterday, I looked in the mirror,

And I saw the same girl, with the same split ends.

In my eyes, there will only ever be one of me,

And I'm sorry that you see more,

But you really don't have to shatter the mirrors,

And send pieces of me to the floor.

I heard from a man so familiar,

A lie that sounded so strange.

His voice was muffled through the bubbles

Of a friendship from long range.

Yesterday, I screamed and fought with him,

And watched him turn his head,

I was shocked to see that it was he,

Who had two faces instead.
