After a few months of not writing anything I finally found some inspiration to get back at it again. I really hope that I can stick with updating at least once a week maybe twice if I get into a big writing kick.

Anyway I hope this story is good, sounds good in my head. I have a few covers that were made for me so I will post them with every chapter. I would feel bad if I had them made and then did nothing with them.

Chapter One

Rule one: Never go to a party alone.

"Ro, please, you just got to come to this party with me." My best friend Jessie begged for the hundredth time while curling her perfect blond hair. She had been bugging me to go to this party ever since she heard about it when school started a month ago. I've never been to a party before and now that we were juniors in high school she thought that it was time we get out there and experience the world.

"You know why I don't want to go. Not with all the stories about girls getting raped." It was true, I was a bit paranoid about being raped at a party ever since my foster mother made me watch a documentary on date rape drugs two years ago when I first asked her to go to a party. I never bothered asking after that, I just had no interest.

"Aurora Blake, you're not gonna get raped. You're gonna meet some hotty, get a little frisky with him, and maybe you won't turn him down when he tries to get you in bed. Now put this on," she threw a silver sequined dress onto my lap, "you're coming with me."

"I don't know Jess, this dress is a little too short for me." I held the dress up to my small body, the end going to about mid thigh, but I knew it would be a little shorter when I put it on.

"The point it fer it to be short. How else do you espect to get all the hotties? Definitely not dressed like that." She motioned to my ripped jeans and black beater that I had put on after changing out of my school uniform.

"I don't want 'all the hotties'. I'm a virgin and it will stay that way until I am in a committed relationship." I put the dress on her bed, "I'm not going."

"Come on. Can't ya just let loose once, just do it fer me. I promise I will do anything you want if you just go with me."

"Does that mean you will stop sleeping around with every guy you meet?" I have talked to her more than once about not sleeping around, but never listens to me. She claims that it's only until she finds 'the one', which will never happen if she continues on this path.

"Yea, I will stop sleepin' around with every guy, but I'm not gonna give it up completely."

"Okay, that's better than nothing at all. I will go to this stupid party and I will wear the dress, I just don't want to look like a clown with a lot of make up." She squealed like a little girl like she always does when something goes her way.

Reluctantly I put on the dress and let her work her magic doing my hair. My hair was naturally brown and curly, not the kind of curly that gets all frizzy and nappy, but the kind of curly that looks like I curl it myself. Jessie insisted on straightening it, saying that it would attract more attention since it was something different. I thought about telling her no, but decided that I argued with her enough today.

Rule two: Don't draw too much attention to yourself.

"There, you're perfect. Now let's go!" She grabbed my hand and pulled me out to her car.

Jessie and I have been best friends ever since I started at her school six years ago. Six years ago was when my parents died, I was only ten years old. Nobody knows how it happened or where they went, they just disappeared and were presumed dead. I used to think all of the time that they were still alive somewhere, but with all the evidence the police had they must be dead.
