Chapter thirty

***Luke's POV***

It's been a month, and Nikki is still gone. I'm trying to figure things out, I am trying to understand fully why she felt the need to up and go. She could've just told me to stay away. That she needed time away to think. But I guess Nikki never goes for the simple way out.

At the moment I was sitting in bed, procrastinating. I know that I am supposed to be getting ready and be walking out the door to go meet the groupe at the nice guy for Dinner in 5 minutes. But I just couldn't be bothered. I had no motivation to go out with them, but I knew in the end that I would have to go.

Getting up and dressed was the easy part, it was the long car ride in which I was left with my thoughts and wants of turning back around.

Upon arriving at the restaurant, I was instantly overwhelmed with the amount of paps waiting outside. I mean it was probably something to be expected saying as the Nice Guy is a popular hangout spot for celebs. Walking through the front door of the restaurant the amazing aroma of food tickled my nostrils making my mouth water. For the first time in a while I was actually in the mood to eat.

"Hey mate over here." I heard the all so familiar sound of Michael's voice pull my attention towards the table were the gang was already sat.

Sitting down, I was instantly able to notice the multiple conversations going on, in the small number of people. Most of which I had no interest in, that is except for one. And that is the conversation between Gemma and Zoe.

"I am so happy for her, she seems to be in a good place, she's finally happy and is beginning to know what she wants and needs. Never mind the fact that she meet that Tyler guy!" Zoe gushed towards Gemma.

"Oh I know. Did she tell you that they've been spending everyday together and that he has started to stay in her hotel room?"

"Yeah she did! They're moving really fast, but she seems to be really happy. So that's all that matters. And honestly who can blame her the guy sounds like he's absolutely amazing. There's no wonder why she decided to make him her boyfriend. If she hadn't I would've."

See this is exactly why I shouldn't have come. Haven't been coming out with the gang because I was tired of them and their shit. But when I finally do make an appearance the night starts off on an amazing note, by me learning that Nikki had found some exotic new boyfriend whereever she has run off to.

"Hey mate, where the hell have you been?" Calum said snapping me out of my state of wallowing as he slapped me on my back.

"I don't know, just haven't been in the mood to be hanging out, you know?"

"No I don't know. You're such a people person, so the idea that you didn't want to do anything baffles me."

"I just haven't been lately, okay? Just leave it alone." And with that everyone was silent. I guess I must have come across much more aggressive than I had meant to.

As the silence that enveloped the table, and began to grow uncomfortable, I saw that no one was making any move to lift the blanket of awkwardness, "So I heard that Nikki had found someone on her trip too..."

I trailed off my sentence in a way that sounded as if I had forgotten where she had gone, in hopes that maybe someone would finish my sentence. In all honesty I had thought that Zoe would have been quick to do as I had planned, after all she's feisty and in all honesty not the brightest star in the sky. Meaning she'd be very susceptible to trickery.

But of course I had no such luck, "Yeah Luke we know exactly what you're doing. But we are not going to tell you where she is. It's not healthy for either of you. And how the hell do you know about Tyler?" Gemma laughed at my idiosy.

"Because you guys weren't the quietest while you were talking about it when I arrived."

"You sneaky ass bastard! It's rude to eavesdrop on people's conversations. I thought Liz had raised you better." Zoe snickered.

"Now that I know, can you guys just tell me everything. It's killing me not knowing where she is and what's happening in her life. Don't forget that I love this girl, and I want to know about this asswipe Tyler, please."

There were worried glances shared around the table, "You really want to know?" Gem asked.

"Yes, yes of course I do."

"Okay then, I won't tell you where she is, but I will tell you she is safe and happy. She had meet Tyler in the airport and learnt that they work together. After that they bumped into each other a couple of times, they had decided that it was fate and began spending a lot of time together and I guess... They fell for eachother."

"But she's barely been gone! They can't possible like each other, they hardly know each other."

"I hate to remind you Luke. But you and Nikki got together faster than anyone else in the world. So I don't think you have the steadiest stilts to stand on." Michael pointed out.

"But Nikki and I were different. We're meant to be together."

"If that were true you'd be with her right now."
