The rest of the ride back to the beach house was silent. I just looked out the window and sipped on my coffee, praying that it would calm me down. As soon as we pull into the driveway, I open the car door and  run as fast as i can onto the porch, and through the door. I ignore Alex's parents and ran directly into my room.

As soon as I entered my room, I shut the door and run into my closet to get changed. I can’t stand the feeling of sweatshirts, even in the winter. I quickly change into a pair of dark wash jean shorts and a light pink “aero ny” print cami. I pull my hair into a low braid, letting some of my hair fall in my face. I also slip on a pair of light grey socks. I don’t bother putting on make-up because, really. Do I need to wear make-up EVERY day?

After I finish getting dressed, I walk back out to the living room to join Alex and his family. The fireplace is on in the living room. I can smell the wood burning. When I reach the living room, I see that everybody’s making s’mores by the fireplace.

"Skyler!" Casey calls. "Come make s'mores with us!"

"Um...." I look around the room and see everybody looking at me expectantly. "Alright," I smile. I grab the softest pillow from the brown leather couch and place it on the ground next to Alex. I don't really want s'mores so much as I want to apologize to Alex. The reason that I was acting so stupid was because you should NEVER introduce your girlfriend you one of your ex's on the first date. I wouldn't have minded if Sam wasn't so pretty. Sam had dark blue eyes which popped because she always wears dark colors. She has very light blonde hair which she always wears in a high, loose bun. I guess I was, am, jealous.

Alex wrapped one of his arms around me and I let out a breath that I didn't realize I was holding. "Are you okay, Skyler?" Alex asked me.

"Oh, yea I'm fine," I said. I look over to Casey and ask her, "Hey can I have a skewer?"

"Sure Skyler," Casey said. She reached over to the nearest skewer and handed it to me. Alex handed me the bowl of oversized marshmallows.

"So what have you two been doing latley?" Mr. James asked Alex and me.

I looked up at Alex and Alex looked back at me.

"Weridos."

"Casey!" Mrs. James scolded, "You know better than to call anyone a weirdo!"

"Yeah, yeah, yeah. I know the drill," Casey said. She practically threw the skewer onto the hardwood floor and ran into her bedroom.

I felt my eyes widen and I heard a low whistle from Alex.

"What's her problem?" I asked Alex.

"I honestly have no idea." Alex was so close to my ear that it gave me chills.

I saw Alex's parents look at each other out of the corner of my eye.

"Um, is there something we should know about?" Mrs. James asked.

Alex and I immedietly pulled away from each other and I looked down at the floor. I don't think that I've ever felt so guilty in all my life. I wanted to come clean so badly, it was killing me.

"Nothing's going on mom, just drop it." Alex slammed his skewer onto the floor, stood up and walked out the back door.

I set my skewer on the floor next to Alex's and stood up to follow him.

"Alex, wait," I called after him. I ended up having to jog to catch up to Alex. We were already halfway down the beach when I finally caught up to him. "Alex, what's wrong?" I asked sympathetically.

"Everything!" Alex ran both his hands through his short brown hair. "My sister's a disfunctional brat, my mother's to overprotective, my dad doesn't give a shit, and now I'm sneaking around with you. My life's a mess."

I didn't know what to say. Alex and I have known each other forever and he's never opened up to me before. I didn't know what to do so I kissed him. I kissed him. It didn't involve tounges or anything like that. Just a little peck on the lips. It was totally uncalled for and I was the one that broke the kiss and took an ackward step back. I looked to my left side and just stared at the sand.

I couldn't help but notice the confused look on Alex's face. I could feel myself blushing. Why did he have to be so cute? I sat down on the beach and  looked out towards the horizion. Alex walked up behind me and he whispered in my ear, "What was that for?"

I smiled and turned my head whispered to him, "I honestly have no idea."

Alex sat down next to me and he kissed me. Alex James kissed me (and there were definatly fireworks as an added bonus)! To be completely honest, I've never kissed anyone before. It was fantastic!

After our make-out session on the beach, Alex and I walked back to the house. We held hands and the entire time I was thinking Damn he's adorable! When we opened the back door, we had our arms around each other's waists. The only problem was that Alex's parents were in the living room sitting on the couch when we walked in.

"Shit," Alex said under his breath.

"Now do you want to tell us what's going on?" Alex's dad asked.

"No not really," Alex replied.

"Alex," I whispered in a warning tone, "It's got to happen sooner or later."

"Fine," Alex whispered back. He then turned his attention back to his parents. "Skyler and I are dating. We have been for three days now. I know what your going to say mom, but I really like her and I really don't want you to send her home. I really care about her."

Alex's parents paused for a minute and then Mrs. James spoke up. "Fine, but if I see anything I don't like, Skyler's on the next flight home."

"Thank you so much Mrs. James! You won't regret it!" I was so happy and relieved that I could stay. If I had been sent home, I probably would've locked myself in my room until the end of the week.
