He stood at the doorway
Looking at me
As if I interested him beyond limits
He finally broke the silence
With an alluring smile
Which knocked the breath out of me
I found myself smiling back
But then my brain repeated
"No."
The same time he said
"I know."
While his face masked the pity
My eyes masked the hurt
And I looked away
And said,
"Go."
