Kathryn's POV

Mataas ang tirik ng araw ngayon. Nakakainis.

This is my past time when I'm alone.

“The fault in our stars?”

I was astonished sa nagsalita. He suddenly said what I was reading. Napatingin ako sa kanya. It was a guy. A handsome guy.

“Yeah.” I smiled.

“Favorite book ko 'yan.” he took a sip of his milktea sabay tumingin sa vacant seat na nasa harap ko.

“Can I?” he asked. I nodded.

Umupo siya sa harapan ko dahil doon ay tumigil muna ako sa pagbabasa.

“That's my favorite book of John Green. What chapter are you in?”

“Hmmm. I'm up to the last chapter. The part when Hazel was reading Augustus' letter to Peter Van Houten. Ayoko sanang basahin dito, the fault made me so emotional.” sagot ko sa kanya.

“Yeah. Kakatapos ko lang ng book last week. Kahit lalaki ako napaiyak ako.” he chuckled.

We talked about John Green while drinking our milkteas. For the first time, I felt something that I just can't explain. Masasabi kong, kakaiba talaga.

“Oh shoot! 5pm na. May practice pa pala kami.” napatayo siya.

“God. Good thing you told me. May pupuntahan pa ako.” Aalis pa pala ako. I'm going to the airport, susunduin ko pa pala ang sister ko.

Napatayo na din ako and fixed my things. Sabay kaming lumabas ng milk tea store.

“I'm heading off. Thanks for that lovely conversation.” sabi ko sa kanya.

“It was nice meeting you.” tumango ako kaya naglakad na ako.

Bago pa ako tumalikod ay may humawak sa braso ko.

“I forgot to ask your name. I'm Daniel.” he showed his “not obvious and undefinable” dimple which eventually made me smiled.

“I'm Kathryn.”

“So, can I get your number? We should hang out some time soon.”

We exchanged numbers and giggles.

“I'll see you soon, Gus.” ngumiti ako ng nakakaloko sabay tumawa.

“Hope that soon will be near, Hazel Grace.” he winked sabay tumalikod na sa akin.

I walked away with a smile on my face. I hope so too.
