Nine

Most girls have their first kiss in the playground,
Some; in a game of truth or dare.
But me?
Mine was with a middle aged man.

Most girls daydream at school,
Some; chatter to pass the time.
But me?
I was far too terrified to dream;
Too scared to even  laugh.

I was nine-
When I had to grow up,
I was nine-
When I lost my innocence,
I was nine-
When I claimed a self inflicted scar,
I was nine-
When I first craved death.

Most girls wake up refreshed.
Some; still clinging a teddy bear.
But me?
I woke up burnt, bruised, often bloody and violated.
I was scared-

I. Was. Nine.
