I walked to her.

She had her fingers locked together. Her hair was blown into her face.

I began to cry.

I felt lonely. Depressed. Embarrassed. Worthless. No good. Awful. Horrid.

She hugged me.

I tensed. The sobs racking my body stopped the second her fingers touched my back. Her face was in my chest.

I couldn't move.

I didn't know what to do. I hadn't felt this kind of embrace since her.

Thank you.

Her voice mumbled into my skin. It was scared and gentle.

My voice wouldn't work.

My breathing was unsteady. I could feel a panic attack looming.

Please stay. Don't leave.

I took a deep breath. And looked down at her.

Okay.
