this one is one of my favourite it is about the japan earthquake

My Reality

The Earth shook

my world,

and everyone in it,

trembled with the intensity,

of a thousand raging rhinos.

Nothing will ever be the same

since the wave arrived,

pushing over buildings

compared to the toppling of dominoes,

leaving nothing in its path.

My mother told me to hide

I sought comfort in the basement cellar,

my mother didn’t follow me,

in attempt to find my brother

she went outside to face the horrors,

I was the one to identify her body.

Nothing makes sense anymore,

my head swirling

like a thousand falling airplanes,

I shut my eyes

to block out the screams of pure terror

that haunt me every night,

as I drown in my dreams.

Thousands dead,

hundreds missing,

chaos all around me

I am lost,

in a world that is now my reality.
